So, I have decided that I will be transferring universities this fall. It may seem crazy, but I think I will enjoy the school I will be attending. It is a public university, but it is smaller. It is about an hour and a half away from where I live. Close, but far enough so that I will have a sense of freedom and independence. I am currently at a university close to home. I live with my family, and it’s a great school, but not for me. I am enjoying the classes I am taking (for the most part, I will have a rant or two to post at the end of this semester), but I am not able to participate in music at school. I applied for the program, but was not accepted. I have since bounced back from it, and frankly, I would not want to be a student of that university’s flute teacher.
Yesterday, I visited my future university. I had been there before, and a few years ago, I had a visit day. This time, it was a little more real, and the visit, for me, was mostly to tour the upper class dorms, to get a full campus tour, and to meet with a couple of people from the departments of interest to me, which would be music and Spanish; I hope to possibly major in both, but definitely music. It was very informative, possibly the most informative trip I have had there.
The school I will be going to has a great music program, and if I choose the education route, it has a great program for that. I hope to take a couple of classes online this summer from that university so that I do not have to worry about transferring more credits and transcripts. Thankfully, next week, I will have the chance to speak with an adviser and enroll in both summer and fall classes. But because of when that school’s summer classes start, I will not have much of a break between spring and summer classes. They start the week after finals week. The good news is that I will be done by the end of June, so I will have a lot of time then to focus on this and my other blogs as well as an Etsy shop. Yes, I want to start an Etsy shop. I have a ton of knitted items that have never been used and are just taking up space in my closet. I also have many ideas for printables such as quotes and maybe even a planner.
So, that is my plan for now, and as always, things could change. I love music, and I hope that it will be a part of my life as well as languages.
