I know that just by the title, I will alienate a lot of people, but that is okay. I believe that everyone has a right to their own beliefs, and I am in no way judging anyone who is religious. Religion can be a good thing, and it is for a lot of people. However, it becomes a problem when people use their religion as a way to justify saying or doing hateful things. I believe that religion should be about being a better person and finding something to believe in and finding hope. I know many religious people who follow their religion for those reasons.
It becomes a problem when people hide behind their religion instead of coming to terms with the fact that not everyone is the same. There is difference in the world, and that diversity should be a good thing. I know religion is a controversial topic in most of the world, but I think it’s something that should be talked about more often. How can we better ourselves if we don’t acknowledge the problems we have?
