Whether you want to blog weekly or less often, you need to know how to write a blog post well. That way, you can share your stuff and make sure people know your post exists.

How to Write a Blog Post
Whether you plan to publish a blog post every week or every month, you need to know how to write a blog post. Of course, you can hire a writer to help you write your blog posts.
However, being about to write a blog post yourself can be important. Depending on the content you want to write, it may need to come from your perspective. If you know how to write a blog post, you won’t have to worry about finding the perfect writer.
Create an outline
Once you have the perfect topic to write about, you should create an outline. For the longest time, I never wrote outlines for my posts. However, once I had to for a writing client, I realized how important they are.
When you write an outline, you can make sure that you present the content in a logical order. This is SUPER important for tutorial posts, where you teach readers how to do something.
If you don’t have an outline, it will be much harder to organize your content. You may need to rewrite things to make them flow. So save yourself time and stress with an outline.
Write the content
Of course, the next step is to write a blog post based on your outline. You can use your outline to determine what to write and when.
If you use your outline, you won’t have to spend time figuring out what subsections to cover. You also won’t have to do a ton of research while you write if you do that while creating the outline.
When you write your first blog post or two, it may take a while to write everything. However, the more you do it, the faster you will get. If you don’t have a lot of time, you can write shorter posts, or you can write less frequently.
Proofread the text
One of the most important steps to posting anything online is proofreading. I know that I have published obvious mistakes. Many bloggers do it all the time.
Unfortunately, it can make you look bad. If you can’t catch a spelling error, what will keep you from catching a playing error in a student? What will keep you from catching errors in sheet music?
To proofread, it’s best to do it a bit after you finish writing. That way, you can come back to the post with a fresh set of eyes. You can catch things you missed when you were writing.
If you’re busy and don’t want to wait, you can use a tool like Grammarly. You can create a free account for basic proofreading, or you can pay for a premium account that will offer more suggestions.
Check for SEO
After you write a blog post and proofread it, you should add some SEO. Ideally, you will do some of these things as you write. However, you should double-check your work after you finish.
Make sure that you use your chosen keyword or phrase in the title of your post, at least one or two headings, and in the introduction. If you include any images, add the keyword to the alt text in the image editor.

Publish your post
After you write a blog post, you get to publish it! Depending on where you host your website, you can connect your social media accounts. That way, you can automatically share your posts when they go live.
Before you hit publish though, consider if you want to publish it now or schedule it for later.
If you want to maintain a regular schedule for your blog, scheduling will make that easier. By scheduling posts, I can write them a week or two ahead of time.
When the publishing day comes, I don’t have to worry about logging into my site and publishing the post. It will publish and share my new post for me!
How to Write a Blog Post Quickly
Now that you know the basics of how to write a blog post, you may want to increase your speed. As someone who does this for a living, I have found some tricks to help me write more quickly.
That way, I don’t have to dedicate an entire day to a single article.
Since I often have two or three blog posts to write in a day, I have to write quickly. If you want to write a blog post yourself, you have to factor that in along with any teaching or performing you do.
Get rid of distractions
If you want to do anything more efficiently, you need to get rid of what is harming that productivity. For many of us, that means blocking out social media, email, and texts.
So set your phone aside, log out of your email and social media on your computer, and get to work.
You can play some music in the background if it helps you work faster. However, make your environment as distraction-free as possible. If you know that you’ll focus on the music, don’t listen to it.
Write what you know
One of the purposes of blogging is to share your knowledge with potential students and clients. That means that you should have a good idea of the topics you cover.
When you write what you know, you won’t have to spend as much time researching. You can write based on your own experience with the subject.
Of course, some research is necessary. You don’t want to share any statistics or other numbers without a source to back it up. However, you don’t have to spend hours researching a post.
Use your outline
Creating an outline may seem like more work, but it can help you write a blog post faster. When you have an outline, you don’t have to come up with sections on the spot.
That way, you can push through minor writer’s block. You can write a blog post of any length in less time than if you didn’t have an outline.
Write the body text first
While you might be tempted to start with the introduction, start with the body of your blog post. Even when you have an outline, you might take your post in a different direction.
If you wait until the end to write your introduction, you can make sure that it is enticing to the reader. That way, you can hook people into your post immediately.
