Turn IG Stories Into Pins
Another option is to take your Instagram stories and turn them into videos. If you upload your slides into an app like Canva, you can then download them as one video.
Then, upload the video to Pinterest and share it to a relevant board. You can add a link to your Instagram account, your website, or no link at all.
I’d recommend this for any educational IG stories you’ve posted. They aren’t necessarily the best for more lifestyle stories.
Post Reels as Video Pins
If you’ve been creating Instagram Reels, you may already share them to TikTok and YouTube Shorts. Well, Pinterest is another platform where you can share vertical short-form videos.
Download your latest Reel from your Instagram profile. Or consider recording the video off the app and editing it in Instagram later.
Then, you’ll have the footage without a watermark that you can share on Pinterest. And if it’s relevant, you can add a link to a blog post or product page on your videos.
Write Blog Posts
You can also repurpose Instagram content on Pinterest by writing long-form blog posts. Take ideas from your latest Instagram posts and turn them into articles.
Once you publish the content on your website, make a graphic for it with the title. You can then share that graphic on Pinterest with a link back to your blog.
Sure, this isn’t directly sharing Instagram content on Pinterest. But it’s a great way to get more use out of your different content ideas.
Why Repurpose Instagram Content on Pinterest
When you’re growing your online presence, you may wonder if you should use every platform. A lot of experts recommend using one or two.
And if you want to use Instagram and Pinterest, repurposing your content can help you save time. Here are a few good reasons to use both platforms.

When you repurpose Instagram content on Pinterest, you can help your content get more views. On Instagram, you may get a lot of activity on a post within the next day or so.

On Instagram, you have to get people to click on your profile and then click the link in your bio. It’s a lot of work for your audience to find what they want.
And it’s a lot of work for you since you may have to update your link every time you share a new Instagram post.
It Takes Seconds
If you want to repurpose Instagram content on Pinterest, you can do so quickly. This is particularly true if you just want to share IG posts as Pins or share Reels as videos.
The process is as simple as copying and pasting a link or uploading a video just once more. You don’t have to sink hours of your life into Pinterest to see results.
Of course, it can take time for results to come. But after using the platform for many years, it’s become my second-highest website traffic source after search engines.
Enjoy the Best of Both Worlds
Some of the best advice I’ve heard when it comes to choosing your platforms is to find one short-term platform and one long-term platform.
Instagram is a great short-term platform because you can get views and followers relatively quickly. But the lifespan of a post is also much shorter.
On the other hand, Pinterest is a long-term platform. It takes more time to get significant views on a post, but the post won’t die off in a few days.

If you want to market your business online, consider which platforms to use. And if you can’t decide between a couple, consider how you can repurpose Instagram content on Pinterest.
