Danse Macabre is one of my favorite works from Saint-Saens. Now, you can play this spooky classic for mixed flute quartet: 2 C flutes, alto flute, and bass flute.
I arranged the piece so that every part gets the limelight at one point or another. That way, no one feels left out.
This piece is perfect for a flute quartet recital, an addition to a solo recital, or as part of a larger flute choir. It’s suitable for intermediate level players.
What You’ll Get:
- Digital download of the score
- Four parts (same file)
Why This Edition
As a multiple flutes specialist, I used my knowledge and experience on the C flute and low flutes to edit this arrangement. I made sure the first flute player wasn’t the only one to have the melody.
Because I’ve seen plenty of alto flute and bass flute parts that are boring. We don’t do that here.
Plus, you’ll know this edition is playable. It wasn’t put together by some random musician who doesn’t know how flutes work.
Your Arranger
I’m Hannah, and I’m a flute, piccolo, and alto flute player and arranger. I specialize in writing music that’s suitable for the flute family.
I’ve seen my fair share of flute parts that don’t work well. Like tons of switches between low C and Eb. (Who can relate?)
So I made sure each of the parts are practical and that the quartet is easy to put together.
