The footjoint keys on the flute are used for some of the lowest notes on the flute and even some of the highest notes. This Flexible Flute Lesson covers how you use each key and what you need to know first.
You’ll receive:
- Lifetime access to a video lesson
- A PDF with exercises to reinforce the concept
- The chance to request feedback on a recording
Your Teacher
I’m Hannah, and I’m a flutist and teacher, and I love the low notes. But playing those notes requires the footjoint.
I want to make it as easy as possible for you to learn how to get a good sound down low. So I created this lesson that you can reference when needed.
Happy fluting!

Who is this lesson for?
This lesson is for flute players who are comfortable playing within the treble clef staff. You should learn the higher notes in the first octave before attempting to play the notes on the footjoint.
