Here are some common questions you may have.
You’re not Black. Why should I buy your arrangement?
I’m not Black, and I don’t claim to understand the life experience of Black musicians. However, I really wanted to share music from Black composers.
As a flutist and arranger, the best way to do this was to arrange works by Black composers. I know how the flute and alto flute work, and I was able to write this arrangement using that knowledge.
How is this better than a free version on IMSLP?
The solo piano version has up to four voices at a time, impossible for a flute duet. I’ve isolated the most important notes in this version.
And, of course, I transposed the alto flute part
Do you have a version for two C flutes?
Not yet. But if there’s enough interest for such an arrangement, I’ll edit the alto flute part to work on the C flute!
