Danse Macabre is one of the spookiest, most famous orchestral works. But if you don’t have an orchestra to play with, you can play a flute version.
I arranged Variations on Danse Macabre to make it a bit more fun. This edition starts with the main theme and includes two variations before repeating the theme in the last movement.
To help write those variations, I actually played through the ideas. Then, I put the best ideas onto the paper (or computer).
You won’t get any crazy lines that are impossible to play.

Why This Edition
This edition is written for solo flute by a flute player. I used my flute playing to help create a few variations that sound good and are enjoyable to play.
Because no one wants music that’s impossible to play.
And who wants to deal with music written by someone who obviously doesn’t understand the instrument they’re writing for? That’s inexcusable.
Your Arranger
I’m Hannah, and I’m a flutist and arranger/composer. I’ve seen a lot of horrendous flute parts to know that we need more flute players writing for the instrument.
But I’m also someone who doesn’t have easy access to an orchestra. Or when I do, I don’t get to choose the repertoire.
So I decided to take one of my favorite orchestra pieces and write it for solo flute. I wanted to add the variations to make this edition a bit more unique.
