Time Management for Busy Musicians

Time management for busy musicians may seem impossible. But if you have the skills and knowledge, you can make the most of your time.

Whether you struggle to practice “enough” or wish you could just relax more, I’ve been there. Every musician feels guilty when they don’t practice.

But sleeping and spending time with friends is essential. If you just hole yourself up in a practice room, you’ll miss out on a lot.

Time management IS possible!

Gone are the days of struggling to balance everything. You don’t have to skip meals or sleep less just to improve your playing.

After starting the flute “late,” I didn’t have hours a day to catch up to my peers. I HAD to make it work in a couple of hours a day.

Within a few years, I graduated with a bachelors in flute performance. Three and a half years after that, I completed my master’s degree.

Now, I’m a full-time freelance blogger and arranger. So I don’t have all the time in the world to practice. But I still make it work.

Do you want more of your time back?

Imagine getting to go to bed at a reasonable time. Or spending more time with friends and family. How about watching that Netflix show everyone’s been talking about?

You CAN have it all, and your musicianship doesn’t have to suffer.

What would it feel like to:

  • Get plenty of sleep?
  • Not forget or skip meals?
  • Enjoy life as a human outside of music?
  • Dedicate time to other interests?
  • Look forward to practicing?

Time Management for Busy Musicians can help!

Time Management for Busy Musicians is a comprehensive guide to help you be productive in and out of the practice room.

I know what it’s like to:

  • Feel like I’m behind my peers
  • Spend time practicing instead of with friends
  • Wallow in guilt for not practicing “enough”

And I also know what it’s like to:

  • Spend time with my friends and family
  • Play just as well as any other musician my age
  • Trade my guilt for pleasure

Now, it’s your turn.

You don’t have to waste time practicing or trying to decide what to practice. And you don’t need to feel guilty for putting your instrument away.

We all deserve time to relax and step away from music. Whether you do that for a few days or even an hour a day, you should.

Music is great, but it shouldn’t consume your entire life. Even if you’re a professional musician.

You’ll get:

  • A guide that you can download and/or print
  • Access to slides with more information
  • Lifetime access to all of the materials
  • Access to me, the program creator

Who am I?

After starting the flute in high school, I quickly realized that I wanted it to be my main instrument. But I knew that I probably wouldn’t get into music school the next year.

So I practiced my butt off (efficiently, I’m talking quality over quantity). My junior year, I transferred from community college to a state university to study flute performance.

Even then, I still didn’t have all day to practice. I had classes, and I made some non-musician friends in my dorm. And I wanted to spend time with them!

Once school was over, I sadly had to take a dreaded day job. While I could still practice, I had to spend up to 10 hours at work in a day. That limited the time I could spend playing my instrument.

Now, my mission is to help other practice efficiently and enjoy the process.

Music should be fun!

Whether you’re currently in music school, a professional, or play for fun, you want to enjoy it. You deserve to enjoy it.

If you know how to practice well and manage your time, you can have fun as a musician. You won’t have to sacrifice other parts of your life to maintain or build your skills.

Who is the guide for?

The guide is for any musician looking to manage their time better. If you feel like you don’t have enough time to practice or do anything else in your life, you need this guide.

Students can learn to balance music and their classes. Working professionals (in and out of music) can learn to balance their practicing with all of their work.
