We are already a week into December and a week into Blogmas. What even. I didn’t really have any ideas for today’s post, so I decided to give you guys a life update about everything from school to my blog. So, here it goes.
I am getting close to the end of the semester, and a lot has happened in the past few months. I finished my final season of marching band, did my first solo recital and finally decided what I would be doing after graduation this May. I also finally launched my Etsy shop!
A lot can happen in four months, and I am super excited for the next few months. Here is more of what has happened and some plans I have for the next few months.
I am almost ready to graduate (credit wise-I am more than ready to be done with school, mentally). In some ways, I am sad about that. I transferred schools as a junior, so I only got to spend a couple of years at my current university. However, I have been in school ever since I can remember, and I am ready for a long break. I love learning, but I need some time off from all of the grades.
Also, my schedule will be awesome next semester. No classes before noon and nothing on Fridays. That means that I should have more time to blog!
Since I will have an easy schedule next semester, I would love to post more on this blog. I am not going to try and do something every day, like Blogmas, but I would like to post two or maybe three times a week.
I am also going to use some of my extra time for my online business. I have a shop on Etsy where I sell digital art prints and quotes. I plan to use winter break to create some more awesome digital art to sell and possibly give away, if I can.
I will also be working for my school’s paper next semester. I loved writing opinion pieces this semester, and that is what I will be doing again. I might also try and get some freelance writing jobs, but that will depend on the time I spend on school, my blog and my budding business.
Life + More
Not much has really happened in my life. I did make the decision to not go to graduate school, or at least to put it off for awhile. It was a hard decision to make, but I am happy with that decision. Graduate school takes a lot of time and money, and I would rather spend some time just enjoying life and working on my career.
I do know that even though I could go a get a job anywhere, I will be moving in with my family again. I really want to make an online business work, and in order to do that, I have to cut costs. I also think that there is no shame for me, as a young single woman, to live with my parents. I also hope that I can use some of the money I do make to invest in my blog and business.
Well friends, that is a glimpse at what I am doing with my life at this time. I hope you enjoyed reading my life update. Be sure to read yesterday’s post and follow me on Twitter (@HannahHaefele) so you don’t miss future posts!
